Introduction:
Like as every year, Women Environment Preservation Committee is celebrating 2013 World Environment Day with support from Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment and Each Eco Clubs under EEPC. The program will start from June 1st 2013 to June 8th 2013.
The program Celebrated are:
Bagmati cleanup campaign and Tree Plantation Program:
With the growing rate of Bagmati river pollution, there is an immediate need to sensitize people. The government and the concerned people need to act now. Otherwise it will be very late. So, with support from local community, local clubs, eco clubs from Lalitpur district, WEPCO is going to organize Bagmati Cleanup campaign and Tree plantation program dated on June 1st 2013. The program is scheduled to start from 7:00 A.M to 9: P.M. However, WEPCO will bring all the necessary equipment for cleaning and plantation program but if possible the participants are requested to bring the required tools.
National Level Interschool Essay Competition:
This year WEPCO is organizing National level interschool Essay competition with support from Ministry of Environment Science and Technology. Two Participants (One Boy and One girl) from every eco clubs will be invited to participate in the essay competition. The topic for the essay competition will be related to the theme of 2013's WED (i.e. Think. Eat, Save) so students are suggested to prepare their minds related to the given theme. The topic for essay competition will be provided at the time of program dated on June 2nd 2013.
The program is scheduled to start from 11:00 A.M. apparently, the venue was supposed to be "PRAGATI SIKSHYA SADAN" but due to some technical difficulties it has been changed to "NAGARJUNA ACADEMY". The participating schools are requested to send two students (One Boy and One Girl) from Eco Club with their Eco Teachers. The winners from the program will be honored later on the June 5th 2013 at Academy Hall, Kamaladi.
World Environment Day Rally:
WEPCO's wing EEPC every year conducts Environment Rally on June 5th from WEPCO premise to Academy Hall. This Rally has become very important in perspective of delivering the importance of Environment to local people. So unlike previous year, WEPCO with more than 1200 student will march from WEPCO premise to Academy Hall with different Play cards, banners, slogans on June 5th 2013. More than 1200s of students will be present this year with different play cards, banner, Slogans, Cultural dances etc
The schools participating in the Rally Program are requested to bring play cards, Banners, slogans etc based on this year theme. Like previous year, WEPCO will honor one Eco Club as the Best Rally based on the performance, discipline, play cards, slogans and uniform. So, participating schools are requested to be more conscious in the Rally program. The winner for Best Rally will also be honored at June 5th 2013 at Academy Hall, Kamaladi.
Prize Distribution Program:
The winning students from Essay Competition, School from Best Rally and Best Eco Club of the year will be announced and honored on June 5th 2013.
*NOTE: Only registered schools will be allowed to participate in our program so every school and eco club are requested to register their New Eco Club Committee (2013's Committee). Furthermore, during Registering Eco Clubs are requested to bring their last year Eco Club's Annual Report and this year Annual Plan. Those who will not bring the last year Eco Club report will not be able to qualify for Best Eco Club of the Year honor.
